How JointChoice works

Independent choices.
Explained clearly.

JointChoice is being built around a simple idea: people deserve to understand why something is recommended, what the trade-offs are and where commercial relationships fit into the picture.

Independent scoringRetailer commission does not set recommendation order.
Explainable choicesRecommendations should connect back to the needs you gave us.
Evidence awareWe separate evidence, retailer claims and JointChoice judgement.
Human controlAI can reduce routine work without silently taking over important editorial decisions.
Why we exist

Choosing should not require twenty tabs and a spreadsheet.

Shopping online can mean sponsored rankings, conflicting reviews, dozens of almost-identical products and little explanation of which differences actually matter. JointChoice brings that decision into one place and focuses on fit: your budget, priorities, household, deal-breakers and the compromises you are comfortable making.

01

Understand the need

Browse normally or tell the Advisor what matters. Questions are optional, not a barrier to seeing products.

02

Compare meaningful differences

Product DNA, specifications, evidence and trade-offs help distinguish genuine fit from marketing noise.

03

Explain the recommendation

A shortlist should tell you why an option fits, what may not suit you and where to explore further.

Commerce vs judgement

Retailer feeds can update the shop window. They do not control the verdict.

Affiliate and retailer systems are useful for current prices, stock, delivery information and outgoing links. JointChoice deliberately keeps that commerce layer separate from editorial recommendation data.

Retailer data may update

  • Current price and previous price
  • Stock and availability
  • Delivery information
  • Approved retailer and affiliate links
  • Last-checked timestamps

Retailer data cannot silently change

  • JointChoice recommendation scores
  • Pros, cons and trade-offs
  • Who a product is best for
  • Product DNA / editorial judgement
  • The reasons shown for a recommendation
AI at JointChoice

AI should do the repetitive work, not hide the important decisions.

The JointChoice Brain is designed to watch for stale retailer information, missing evidence, thin SEO content, incomplete Product DNA, weak imagery and other quality issues. Safe routine maintenance can increasingly be automated; higher-impact changes are intended to arrive in Daily Review with the proposed change and a reason.

Good uses of AI

  • Find catalogue and content gaps
  • Suggest clearer product copy and SEO improvements
  • Spot stale links, stock issues and missing evidence
  • Prioritise work for Daily Review
  • Draft changes for human approval

Protected decisions

  • No silent deletion of products
  • No uncontrolled publishing
  • No invented prices, reviews or evidence
  • No automatic change to editorial scores
  • No commission-led recommendation changes
When a category is ready

We would rather show fewer categories properly than pretend everything is live.

A category should earn its place on JointChoice. That means enough useful products, meaningful data and a customer journey that actually helps someone make a decision.
